Living Life the Wong Way --In Pursuit of Happiness and Food!

Friday Favorites (Home Improvement Edition)

Happy Saturday! I’m a little late on publishing.

Frogtape ($9.42)- In my previous post, I mentioned that we recently painted our master bedroom and I can’t believe I forgot to mention this tape. It adhered really well to the baseboards and walls. We didn’t have any noticeable bleeding. We painted our master bedroom gray but left the bathroom white and this tape gave a nice crisp line of demarcation. Tip: Use a credit card to score the edges to really get good adherence.

Parker & Bailey Natural Lemon Oil Polish ($13.46) – We have wood cabinets and they are water stained. I used this to refresh all our cabinets. They looked so much better afterward.

Here is the before and after:

BISSELL ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Pro Carpet Cleaner  ($269.99) – I don’t have a pet, but after doing some research, this unit received rave reviews. Initially, I thought of renting a Rug Doctor, but for just the price of a few rentals, I could own this.

The real test came when my daughter spilled black acrylic paint onto the carpet in her bedroom. I was so pissed! She dabbed up as much paint from the carpet but it still left a black mess. It didn’t look promising, but nevertheless, I ran the carpet cleaner thru. It was noticeably cleaner already with the first try but after the second cleaning, I can’t even tell where the spill occurred anymore.

Casabella Upright Sweep Set – Gray ($16.49) – I bought this set to store in my master bathroom. I have long hair and I am shedding a lot of hair whenever I brush or blow dry my hair. It then gets dragged onto the carpet. I like this set a lot because it has a narrow profile. The dustpan can be folded up, so I can tuck it behind the bathroom door.

General Electric UltraBrite MotionActivated LED Light ($12.99)- If you’re looking for a bright motion sensor nightlight, this is a great option. They’re so bright, I don’t even need to turn on the lights when I go into the bathroom at night.

I know a lot of people are doing home improvement projects now. Sometimes, even little changes can make us enjoy our space more, so I hope you find today’s edition helpful.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
