Tiered Cami Maxi Dress ($49.00)- I ordered this in Tango Red and immediately had buyer’s remorse. Although our shelter-in-place has ended, we’re still mainly at home, so where am I going to wear this to? I was really hoping not to love it when it arrived, but when I saw the shade of red in person, I knew it was a keeper. I actually already have a similar Cami Maxi Dress (it’s actually currently on sale for $29.18), which I really like. It’s super comfortable. The dress is almost the same, but I love this new red version.
Perfect Crew Tee and Perfect V-Neck Tee – I don’t usually shop at Pink but I had some old store credit from Henri Bendel (already out of business) that could be used at Victoria Secret. Uncertain about all these retail company’s futures, I decided that I had better use up the merchandise credit in case anything should happen to them. While browsing, I accidentally found this cute avocado t-shirt that was too cute to pass up. It looks like they’re all sold out of the avocado print now, but there is a v-neck version with a pepper or rainbow print which are also cute.
V-Neck Cotton Tee ($16.50 but there are always sales) – I love these t-shirts. I have them in red, navy, and white. White tees are my favorite. I feel like you can never have enough white tees.
Elastic-Waist Pleated Midi Skirt ($19.50) – I got this in blush pink. The skirt is so flowy and feminine. Again, I’m not sure when or where I’m going to wear this to but I feel like this is a classic, so it’ll just sit in my closet for now.
High Waist Yoga Pants with Tummy Control – I had to get more yoga pants because that’s what I usually wear in the evenings when I go walking. I actually like the ones with the mesh panels more but I already have them in my favorite colors (black and purple). The other colors didn’t appeal to me, so I ordered the non-mesh ones in blue-grey. When I opened the package, they actually looked like the purple ones I already had, but I did notice the color difference once I placed them side by side.
Cloth Face Masks ($18) – These come in a pack of 3. Don’t they just look very J. Crew? I really liked the simple prints and these are comfortable. There is a pocket where you can insert an additional filter. I already have some surgical masks that my mother in law sent to us, but I like to have these on hand when I’ll be wearing a mask for longer intervals.
Kid’s Face Mask ($4) – These come in a pack of 2. I bought these for my 1st grader in anticipation of our schools opening up for the hybrid model in the fall but looks like it’ll be fully remote learning in CA. I’m sure these will come in handy anyways since the surgical masks were way too big for my youngest’s face.
Skincare and Hair Care
Olaplex No. 3 Hair Perfector ($28) – I’ve heard so much about this supposed miracle product and really wanted to try it to see if it’s real or all hype. When I first heard about it, I thought it was only a treatment you could get from salons and only for clients that were bleaching their hair. Apparently, everyone can benefit from it because we all damage our hair from dying, highlighting, and regular heat styling.
I’m sure my hair could use some repair since I’ve been dying it and have also had it highlighted before. Basically, this product is supposed to strengthen your hair by repairing all the broken bonds within your hair from all the abuse. Sounds good, right?
I dampened my hair, applied the No. 3 and left it in my hair for 45 minutes. Then, I shampooed it out and applied the Kiehl’s hair mask for 10 minutes and rinsed off. My first impression after usage was that my hair felt less frizzy and appeared smoother. Keep in mind this is not a conditioner and you should use a conditioner afterward.
Also, $28 may seem like a lot to shell out for such a small bottle but even though I saturated my long hair, I only used 1/5 of the bottle.
Kiehl’s Olive Fruit Oil Deeply Repairative Hair Pak ($25) – This is my favorite hair mask but I go a little crazy and use it as a conditioner instead. It does contain silicone and methylparaben if that’s a concern to you. It uses Amodimethoicone and this post from Labmuffin may soothe your concern about this particular silicone if you’re doubtful and here is one regarding paraben usage.
The Ordinary “Buffet” Copper Peptides 1% ($28) – I’ve used this for over a year now and have repurchased this many many times. It’s one of my favorite serums.
The Ordinary Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin ($10) – I finished up their Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% and wanted to try this Vitamin C serum with Arbutin to help with lightening up the sunspots on the side of my face.
